Just as wonderful to hear

It was official, the papers were signed and I was the new renter of the upstairs of a nice duplex complete with fireplace, on a rather quaint little street. My partner was as excited as I was that this was our place to decorate, cohabitate, maybe even levitate if we were under the perfect influence from one anothers special aura that bonded us almost immediately. This was the beginning of a beautiful thing.

As I am unpacking things upstairs he is travelling down the steps bringing stuff from the car and garage into the first floor foyer. He had done his best to break away from other responsibilities to make this happen and I really was not surprised with his enthusiasm, it was a long time coming for both of us. Standing in our indoor porch looking out the huge bay window running the length of it, he started whistling. A couple boxes were ripped open and nick nacks were placed on the mantle and as I arrangedthem accordingly I giggled like a 'little girl' that my 'little boy' inside this man was happy whistling while he worked.

All the wires for the stereo system were done right by dad the day before and now we just had to find the cd's. Well since those miraculously never made it to the new place, we decided the radio would do. For awhile, as the crackling wood in the fireplace kept getting more singed, we surfed the available radio stations that a signal was picked up from. In the midst of channel-changing, I switched to am radio and all of sudden the whistling he was so apt to do while working came out in la la la's--he was telling me all I ever wanted to hear and it was just as wonderful.

We cuddled on our new floor in front of a roaring fire and thanked calloway for showing three words being music to our ears . . .
