Good to Know it is not only about DNA

Fatherhood a young man's fear, joy, destiny?, purpose, goal--whatever society deems that role should take on it generally lacks or exceeds the regular parameters. With an older man stepping into this role, does it become easier ? I would not know but I do know an extended family version of the daughter-father bond has an advantage and thank goodness fatherhood on this scale "is not only about DNA".

There is balance, wisdom, perseverence and patience--a peacemaker can make a difficult relationship between a step-daughter and father, flourish. This peacemaker has these strong suits and barely ever walks around unveiled. Starting with procreation around the novice age of 25 which back in 1966 was already near mid-life, ha ha,

Well who the heck would of thought that what you needed may have been all you ever wanted: LOVE, the kind that does not judge, condemn or abandon. It is a love without intimacy, no raw physicality but moreso reared in unconditionality and usually over-bearing.

A father does not have to share genes, bloodlines and even DNA to demonstrate that which patience and balance and wisdom give. It renders their soul helpless, so to speak, yet lifts them into a greater purpose when loving someone other than your own flesh and blood. It takes a special kind of combined effort between peace-making, disciplining, earning respect and expecting that the hand that feeds should NOT be bit by the one hungry . . . . A gentle man is the step-father that took to being abused during physical pain had wracked the energy and joy out of the step-daughter sometimes ungrateful for what she had at her constant expectation.

Nothing more important than music in her life those days, it was a way running from her own ego-driven mistakes; to exceed and a climb up the myriad of hopeful mountains and hillsopened up to her. But it was not before this song was played that the transformation before her affirmed a 'dad' is not about DNA but about true LOVE.

It is a warm Spring day and I still have all the things I really wanted because I understand it is really all that I need . . .
