A Princess Is Killed--The irony of it

LOCATION: My old bedroom at parents house , Bainbridge, Ohio

YEAR: 1997

TAGS: sync_ron_icity, coincidence, sensing, loss, song, in memory, Princess Dianna

PUBLISHED: February 28, 2008

My second husband and I were listening to the radio, spening some quiet time while the kids were hanging out with grandma and grandpa in the family room, and the announcement of Princess Dianna being in a terrible car crash interrupted a five-song album play of Elton John. The song interupted was "candle in the Wind", the one he would sing proudly a bit re-recorded for her funeral in a few days. The irony of that announcement and the song later and the fact I was talking about going back to London, I had visited in 1984 and saw Princess Dianna through the gates of Buckingham Palace, that she was now dead and i would never be able to do that, too much !

I began a torrent of tears I had never known were in me like that, it really made me feel kind of weird when it first happened. Later, like in a few years, did i only figure out that the talking about her, the songs we were listening too, how in touch my senses were with people I found riveting, and the simple fact that sync_ron_icity has a tendency to follow me alot throughout my life, I was more relieved than sad.

A song got me through as music always has . . .
