27 hours later the party ends.

Copious libations carried us through the hours, surrounded by great people, the music was fantastic ... the familiar high pitch hum is lodged in the ear drums.

It's Sunday 6:30 am, the warm orange yellow glow is peeping through the drapes. Sunglasses are starting to drop from foreheads to cover up the not so pretty blood shot eyes.

I still have remnants of that loved-up feeling that you can only get from being physically exhausted, cotton mouthed, with a little brownie buzz still hovering in my head.

The tube is still on strike, so my mates and I are getting ready for the long stumble home, with hopes of catching the first battered fried fish from the chippie.

The hostess of this fabulous marathon, a pixie fairy, an Indian angel, opens the day with this perfect little gem "Thank You".

"And so today, my world it smiles,

Your hand in mine, we walk the miles,

Thanks to you it will be done"

I don't remember too much of that evening, but whenever I hear this song the physical sensation comes back and a vision of our Indian goddess floats back into my mind.
