One of my earliest memoriesLOCATION: My neighbor's basement , Long Island, New YorkYEAR: 1963TAGS: CarnivalPUBLISHED: August 26, 2008I was 6 or 7. The big thing in my neighborhood was to hold "carnivals" for Muscular Distrophy (we were all moved by the Jerry Lewis Telethons). We were holding one carnival and one of the events was a live performance of the Beatles She Love's You. The song was performed by a bunch of 5-10 year olds with dust mops on their heads and the handles for guitars (we lip synched, of course).
