I first saw Prince in the little red corvette video on MTV. This was at a time when Michael Jackson was the man on the charts and had few rivals. The video was cool as hell, prince in that great purple trenchcoat dancing his tail off. THen the comparison started about who could dance better, Jackson or Prince. I dont think Prince held up against Michael in those days in that area. I bought the 1999 record and my folks didnt know anything Prince and let me buy this 2 tape set. This was the most sexual exposure I had in music in my young life. It was so blantant. Songs liek DMSR and Lady Cab Driver are great songs but at 12 years old it was a lot for my little brain to handle but I loved it. It was one of those thing you dont want your folks to hear and they didnt know it even there in your room. I think people think Darling Nikki was the first dirty Prince song but there are a ton of them befoer that. Go back through his old catalog and you will find a ton of them. Â
