Drummimg my folks into oblivion

I started playing drums at 13 and I was a lover of rock music way before that. The 80's were of course the heyday of hair metal and and I was listening to all that stuff. Motley, Poison, Ratt, Ozzy, Etc. and going to lots of concerts as well. I had a friend who was really into Ozzy Osborne and he had an extra ticket for the show in Atlanta at the Omni. The opening act was Metallica, whom I had heard of but they werent really on my radar. Ozzy was a mega star in the rock world of course and his fans are always out of there minds. My friend wanted to get there in time to see the opener so we went right after school to the arena and hung out until time to go in. I remember not really caring about seeing Metallica but would give them their day in court. I am glad I did! They raised the bar for waht metal should be. Their technical abiliies crushed everything I had heard pu to then and I was incredibly impressed by Lars Ulrich. He was a little dude with big chops. I could have cared less about seeing Ozzy after that and I remember every day for a good six months coming home and playing drums to Master of Puppets. The song has so many curves and parts that is really a fun ride for the listener and the drummer as well. My parents of course hated it, which was the measuring stick for all metal at that time. Like Lemmy says "If your parents dont like it, its good."
