This is just one of the memories I have on this song.

My wife has always been a "words" person. Someone very connected to her emotions and can put them down on paper with relative ease. I , on the other hand have been this same way with music. I can feel it in my emotions and it moves me deeply. One of my favorite artists is Steve Vai. He is a guitar virtuoso and kind of on the geeky side of music since he isnt seen on the billboard chart very often unless he is playing in a group. My wife and I went to see Vai on the Fire Garden tour at the Fox theatre in Atlanta. The Fox is a great venue and a mainstay of Atlanta entertainment. I was very excited to see this show because Vai never disappoints me. I was wondering if Rebecca was going to enjoy it as much as I since we have had lots of discussion on why we like certain songs versus others. It always goes back to lyrics for her and music for me. Thats not a bad thing, just a differrence or us.

Vai's show was more dynamic than usual that night, maybe because the venue was bigger and he was headlining. There was more lighting, lasers and pyro. He didnt need all that but it was way cool. He was plowing through the set like a woodsman with an axe on steroids. I remember right before he platyed "god" a kid ran down to the row in front of us. I think he snuck down from the balcony. He was genually excited to see the master at work. I was standing behind Rebecca with my arms around her feeling like I was on some kind of narcotic. The song moves me to almost tears when it is played live nd its one of those things on my never miss list. It is both a soulful display and a technical masterpiece. For those who have not heard it I suggest checking out the video below. When it was over Rebecca turned to me and said he was like Houdini on the guitar. He could make it do whatever he wanted and she was right.
