I had one of those friends that you keep forever when I was a little kid. I met Justin in pre-k when i was 3 years old. We went through elementary school together and didnt really grow apart until after high school. Anyway, my folks were a little more strict on me than Justins were on him so of course I loved going to his house to spend the night on the weekend. One Friday I went over to his house and he showed me a copy of Kiss double platinum. Man it was cool, the cover was a bight silver and it was a double album, which I had never seen before. I really wasnt into Kiss. I had heard a couple of their songs at knew of there reputation more than their music. We sat up listening to this record all night. I heard most of these songs for the first time and Love Gun was by far my favorite track. This began my obsession with Kiss that lasted until about age 12. I always painted my face to look like Peter Criss and Justin was Paul Stanley. I loved all the stuff I heard from them. It was also my introduction into the darker side of rock where artists talked of sexual conquests and debauturous behavior more than the music itself. I actually bought thte album of love gun that had the paper love gun in the album cover. Its worth a little bit of money today. I think Im showing my age here but rock and roll didnt start with Nirvana.
