Oscar Wilde once said 'Only dull people are good at Breakfast'. Who am I to disagree?

I certainly don't do mornings unless I have to, but Christmas Day 2003 I had to.

Staying with my then girlfriends family and her three neices and nephews (all under ten) I was woken up at 6am and made to watch Scooby Doo - the movie. Twice.

By noon I was flagging. Big time.

'Will you watch a film with me?' asked Harriet, 9.

'Well, I'm quite tired actually,' I responded wearily.

'It's about cheerleaders...'

'Sure!' I said with more enthusiasm than was probably appropriate.

'Do you like cheerleaders then?' she enquired.

'Sure. I think most guys of a certain age do.' I mumbled thinking I best stop there. 

'Cool'.
