That bit when the lights go down and you all stomp and cheer for the band to come back on and play perhaps the only songs the majority of the audience actually know. It's so false and fake, it really annoys me. In fact usually the 'Greatest Hits' annoys me anyway, the songs are so overplayed and so well known that they've been ruined. Rather, for me, the best part of any gig is not when a band plays their best hits, but when they play something a bit obscurer (one for the true fans) or whenthey play something which takes you be surprise. When Queen played this at Brixton back in March 05 it was the highlight of the night. Sure there were better known, and musically richer songs, but I didn't expect them to play this, or for Rog's voice to sound as good as it did. That sense of surprise was never replicated at any subsequent gigs I went to on that tour (even Dragon Attack at the US gigs), so I'm hoping for more of the same in 08...
