Michael Jackson was once a normal, black...werewolf! Yes, that's right! When I was about ten, I got the "Thriller" album for my birthday. And I had a birthday party and of course, I
invited just the boys in my class. We had cake and hotdogs and I even had a cake figure of Robin Yount making a play on top of my butter cream frosting and chocolate flavored
sheet cake(which I still own, I might add). But the biggest draw to the table was the fact that I had Michael Jackson's "Thriller" album playing on the boombox, which was set up
on the kitchen table so we all could hear.

Beat It was probably the most danceable, to me, at least. But Billie Jean was cool(I loved the video and wondered how they made all of those sidewalk sections light up with every
step MJ took. It was no secret Michael Jackson was a fan favorite.

In the Milwaukee Journal there was a stroy that featured both Michael Jackson and Prince. Who was the toppermost of the po scene? Of course, the guy with one glove!
I even had my mom make me a glove with sequins on it. She had sewn at least a few hundred stupid plastic sequins on a white glove she bought at our local Five And Dime store called Nelson's.
I collected every story from the newspaper about Michael Jackson.

When the exclusive 14 minute video came out for Thriller, I stayed up to see it on Friday Night Videos. It was the most expensive video ever made for many years. One reason was that it was directed
by John Landis, who directed Animal House, The Twilight Zone movie among others.

The Thriller video had everything you could ask for for a halloween fright: Zombies! A beautiful girl(playing MJ's girlfriend in the video), lots of fog, darkness and Michael eventually turning into a werewolf!
My little brother was so scared at the sight of it barely even starting that he ran down the hall crying and locked himself in the bedroom. I laughed and enjoyed watching
Jackson strut with the zombies, who all somehow had this innate ability to dance and follow the lead of the former child singing star.

Near the end of the song, the king of all horrors, Vincent Price, does a "rap" in which he describes the night's activities.

And when the song is done, he does what he did best, he laughed like a mad man in a horror freak show. It probably was the best video featuring dead people I have ever seen, including George Romero's classics. While horror is not everyone's cup of tea, the video
it sure ranks up there with what was commonly known as the "art of death" and it will be remembered for probably the next 25 years and beyond.
