Lonely Nights

I was first getting into the Beatles when I heard Sir Paul's, "No More Lonely Nights." I never knew about the movie at the time,
until I began seeing the videos for the film "Give My Regards to Broad Street"(which was really not too well-received).

The video for "No More Lonely Nights" had Sir Paul tromping around in England in both the present(then, 1983-ish) and the past(maybe 1883).

Who else joined the knight on his mission?Well, Mr. Richard Starkey(Ringo!) and his wife, Barbara Bach, a James Bond alum.Linda McCartney was there to round out the chaos and they all lived happily ever after, right?

I won't ever go away

It reflects the stories of how Paul and Linda rarely ever spent a night apart in the span of their long marriage, which at the time
had been about 15 years so far. It was Paul's ultimate homage to to Linda, thus far, possibly topping "The Lovely Linda" from his first solo
venture back in 1970.

Well, somehow, the video and movie tanked. Paul's recreating several classic Beatles songs such as "Eleanor Rigby" and"Got to Get You Into My Life" shook a few people over the wrong way and it became perceived more of an ego-trip than anything. But as I remember, I really dug a few of the songs he didn't remake.his new stuff. One, "No More Lonely Nights" and the other, "So Bad," which has Sir Paul singing insanely high falsettos and braggadoccios(I just made that one up). Ringo played on the album, andSir George Martin even co-produced some of the tracks, like "No More Lonely Nights."

It was exciting seeing "Beatle-people" work together. It was exciting seeing Paul and Julian Lennon host Friday Night Videos sometime in 1984, I think.
I was just all around starting to get, dare-I-say, "excited" seeing it all happen.
