Leap of FaithLOCATION: The Masquerade , AtlantaYEAR: 2006TAGS: Just Surrender, Crowd surfing, Masquerade, AtlantaPUBLISHED: February 27, 2008In 2006 I was just enjoying myself by going to any random concert that came up within a 200 mile radius. When my sister told me about a concert at The Masquerade, I decided to go because I had never been. I didnt go in blind however; I went to Myspace and listened to each of the individual bands that were going to be there. There were some good bands such as Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, who was headlining, Amber Pacific, and Over it, but the band that really caught my attention was Just Surrender. I got ready for the concert by listening to a lot of the songs from all of the bands that would be there that night. My favorite memory, and song, of the concert was Tell Me Everything. During that song, I got someone to throw me on the crowd so I could crowd surf, which in my opinion, is one of the greatest things to do ever. I surfed all the way to the front, and as the stage wasnt high, landed right on my feet next to the lead singer. So of course I thought Id be cool and jump right off the stage back onto the crowd. I of course thought this could not be topped. The next minute, I hear someone scream overhead HEY! I look up to see some guy standing on the eve of the upper level ready to jump. We all got ready, and he jumped, falling nearly 20 feet before being caught by the crowd. He survived, and I refused to try to one up him. That concert turned out to be the best of the entire year, crazy people and all.
