It was the restaurant I worked at where I actually enjoyed the employees and the clientele. Although I was too young partake in any of the festivities, even off the clock, it was fun to sit back and watch how people could have an amazing time just being around people they knew and relaxing a little bit. One thing our restaurant had that made it stand out was an actual jukebox. There were songs playing on it all day, even when no one put money into it. Of course I’m sure that some had forgotten what they’d played before they made it back to their seats, but no one seemed to care. There was one song on that jukebox that was forced permanently into my memory. I Love This Bar not only got everyone singing together, rather loud actually, but it seemed to fit the atmosphere. Of course I went onto different jobs after leaving, but I did eventually go back when I could actually get in after 5 o’clock without being an employee. Amazingly, it hadn’t changed a bit. It was that one place where you could go after a hard day’s work and completely forget everything except the people around you. It didn’t matter if you couldn’t sing, you did anyway, because there was always someone five feet away who sounded worse. It’s amazing to wonder just how many places have had 100 people singing in unison to this one song.
