Give Me The MapLOCATION: A really big church , AtlantaYEAR: 2005TAGS: Skillet, Imperfection, Christian band, road trip, lostPUBLISHED: February 27, 2008After switching up roommates at my first apartment, I found out about a Skillet concert in Atlanta. They were a band I had recently just heard of and had turned my sister onto. Of course they were coming no where near where we lived, just close enough to be a little over a three hour drive. Of course I needed someone to accompany me besides my sister that was my age. My sister of course still tagged along, but I brought my roommate along with me as well. Imperfection was the first song I heard from the band, and I fell for the band in a heartbeat. We were listening to their CD on the way, and after awhile I decided to let my roommate read the map for me so I wasnt driving and reading at the same time. This turned out to be a dumber idea than actually driving and reading coincidently. I followed his directions and after a few seconds realized that the exit numbers were going down instead of up like he was saying. Then when I saw the sign informing me of how close I was to Alabama, I immediately took the next exit. My roommate had managed to skip three entire parts of the directions without noticing it. Well we looked like idiots to the people in the gas station who we asked for directions, which is always fun. We did eventually get to the venue, just in time to catch Skillet and miss the other two bands. Thanks to my good old roommate, instead of just enjoying my favorite song from Skillet when I hear it, I get to think of how we looked like idiots to about 10 Alabamans in a random gas station.
