Best Drive EverLOCATION: I-94 , DetroitTAGS: Eagles, sister, Hotel CaliforniaPUBLISHED: April 28, 2008Last summer I had decided to go visit my sister who had recently moved to Minnesota after graduating from college. It was definitly my first roadtrip when I was driving instead of my parents, and also driving alone. From Detroit, Michigan to Rochester, Minnesota it is about a 13 hour drive with bathroom breaks and to get gas and food. Before I left, I picked up four Red Bulls, 3 Vitamin Waters and a bag of white cheddar popcorn. It was about when I got halfway across Michigan that the song came up on my CD and not only was it because it was a warm summer's evening and I had the windows rolled down, the cruise control on, and the moon roof open, but it was also because the song reminded me of the times I shared with my sister. I remembered on this warm summer's evening how she introduced me to the Eagles and how we used to drive together on a warm summer's evening, doing the same thing I was doing now. Although it was just me, my car, and the food I had brought, I still felt like she was right there in the passenger seat. I hadn't really been looking forward to seeing her before, but after I heard the song a few times in those 13 hours, I arrived and gave her the biggest hug I'd ever given her in my life.
