School DaysLOCATION: School , CaliforniaYEAR: 2003TAGS: Bad Religion, high schoolPUBLISHED: February 19, 2008High school was not my favorite. By the end of it, I was SO ready to leave. But I still went like a good little student. That didn't mean I had to be happy about it. It was senior year that I inherited my car, and so at least I could play music I liked on the way to school instead of subjecting myself to that detestable school bus. Ick. Anyway, my family then lived in the mountains outside of town... and every morning I would get to see this incredible view on my way to school, driving down those winding roads. Of course I was usually late, and never really appreciated it... but I do in retrospect. I also like to sing along with the radio. Hey, at least you don't have to listen to me. But this was my morning pretty much every day the last semester of my senior year; wake up at seven and slog my way semi-consciously through a bowl of cereal before getting out the door ten minutes before class. Then I'd crank up the volume, and sing along with Bad Religion the whole way down the hill, taking the curves at full speed, probably driving a little faster than was entirely safe. Then I'd get to English five or ten minutes late... but so did everyone else, so it hardly mattered. There's nothing like belting out "Sorrow" at 8am to wake you up... this CD pretty much never left my player. This was before I discovered/liked coffee. Hmm... maybe I should consider trying The Process of Belief again...
