What's Not to Like about CCR?

LOCATION: Anywhere , Florida

YEAR: 1989

TAGS: Oregon, CCR, fun, sunshine, rain, memories, friend

PUBLISHED: March 25, 2008

I have been a CCR fan for a long time and still play their music when I need to dispel my inertia and melancholy.  Very simply, I enjoy their hard driving sound and simple lyrics.
Memories of dancing to their music, especially Proud Mary, are a blur of good times and good friends over the years.  To pinpoint one song was difficult at best, but Have You Ever Seen the Rain sums up feelings about and memories of living in the Pacific Northwest’s Willamette Valley.  For nearly twelve out of fourteen years we called Oregon home (there was a short sojourn to Texas in the middle of that time).
There are many memories of my life their, but for a quick overall impression of that area nothing says it better than this song with phrases such as “Til forever, on it goes…” and “Sun is cold and rain is hard.”
I’ll never regret the time I had there and the wonderful people I met and things I learned, but I can honestly say I’m even happier that I left them for the sunshine of Florida.
