Too Good to be True

 "You're just to good to be true.  Can't take my eyes off of you."

From the moment I first saw him, this song began playing in my head.  Over the years since I first heard it this song has been among my favorites, but I’d never met anyone that so completely fit that sentiment for me—not even my late husband whom I’d loved throughout our thirty-three years of marriage.
Even though I was seeing someone else when I met Michael, it was Michael that filled my thoughts and dreams.  As we spent more and more time together as friends the truer the words became to me.  By the time we became a couple, well meaning friends were warning me that “anyone too good to be true, usually are.”  No, I hadn’t mentioned the song, but it was pretty obvious I was completely smitten.  I appreciated their concern, but my heart knew they were wrong.
 That was over three years ago.  It may sound corny, but even now I still find myself singing this song in my head when I look at my husband, Michael.  He’s not perfect, no one is, but he is true and I still can’t take my eyes off of him.
