For a country music fan seeing Willie Nelson in concert is a treat you will never forget.  His career has been phenomenal to say the least.  His lifestyle and exploits, like him, are legendary.  Even if you have never met him, most everyone knows more about his life than they do their neighbors.  In February of 2007 Willie appeared at Cypress Gardens in Florida.  My husband and I were there.  Although no longer young, we were not disappointed.  For almost two hours we were treated to his genius with music though old songs and new.
There are too many great Willie songs to nail one down as a favorite.  However, for me On the Road Again will always be the one that reminds me of the day I saw Willie in person.  From the buses out back to the four stands of Willie souvenirs it was a road show all the way.
The park was packed with Willie fans—getting into the bathroom alone took thirty minutes, and food lines went on forever.  Many sported the usual T-shirts and such touting their adoration of this man.  Some went further by donning his trademark bandana with the braid hanging down the back (they sold those for a mere twenty dollars).  Youngsters to senior citizens claimed their seats and waited even through a brief shower to hear him sing.  It was well worth the wait to see and hear the Red Headed Stranger live.

Abnative said: Good old Willie! I'm not young anymore either but have great memories of that time in my life. We listened to Willie Nelson, Waylon Jensen, Emmylou Harris, John Prine, Doc Watson, and Jerry Jeff Walker. But it was Willie's music that holds the sweetest memories from that time. My husband sings and plays a lot of his songs and Red Headed Stranger is my favorite. "To sweet times" (3/13/2008)
