Small town, small school, and lots of friends you have known forever.  Enter the new guy.  His name was Fred and he was gorgeous.  Tall, blonde, blue eyes, and well built.  Yup, you guessed all the girls went nutty for him.  He was pretty private and shy though so it took us three years to break down his reserve and get him to date within our crowd (no one knew for sure if he had dated others before--certainly no one we knew about).  By mid-year of our senior year he was going steady with one of our friends (the inner, cool clique).  We were all green with envy of course, especially since she changed beaus as often as most of us changed our socks so to speak.  None of us figured it would last and we all positioned ourselves hoping to be next in line.  Then we found out that Fred had an opportunity to go to the Air Force Academy after graduation and being females our first thoughts were of how good he would look in uniform.  So there we were at the cafeteria table drooling and dreaming about Fred in various outfits.  The uniform came first, then someone mentioned him in a tuxedo, and so on around the table.  When it came my turn, I couldn't resist piquing Judy's rising outrage at our ogling of her guy just a bit more.  So, looking out the window I sighed and said, "I think he'd look best in nothing--pause--but a swimsuit."  Judy turned red and huffed off from our group to claim Fred for herself, while the others gasped and remarked at my nerve.  This song was popular around that time and we sang it often to her just to get her goat.  It will always remind me of that time in my life and the gorgeous guy we would've all like to have been in the back seat with anytime.
