Paradise DefinedLOCATION: My Home , Grass Lake, MichiganYEAR: 1957TAGS: ocean, TennesseeErnieFord, river, MarilynMonroe, islandPUBLISHED: April 22, 2008It was a fun song with an upbeat tempo and simple lyrics, but from the moment I first heard it, it truly changed my way of daydreaming about where I wanted to live. I lived in the country with rolling hills and farmland everywhere. Until I heard this song I was sure paradise would be a large ranch (think Ponderosa) or maybe a hacienda (think Zorro), though I was wavering some after hearing and seeing The River of No Return—still my all-time favorite Marilyn Monroe movie. The video is of his song Mule Train, which holds a special memory for my husband who servied on the USS Marias during Vietnam--this was their song. I'll leave it to you to make the connection
