Drifting Along

f you’ve read some of my other memories you will probably recognize a pattern in the songs that deal with water—it’s where my soul longs to be.  Thus it was no surprise to me when I heard this song for the first time on a CD that it instantly became my favorite by this group.  Far from the water at that point in my life, it was my connection to my ultimate dreams and goals.  Listening to it I could close my eyes and truly visualize drifting along with my love on a sail boat going nowhere and everywhere.  Now on days when the reality of life seems to be crushing in all around I listen to Sail Away and I am relaxed and ready to forge ahead to that ultimate dream once more. 
 The fact that I already was a big fan of this group made it all the better.  Best known for their song Elvira, they are entertainers extraordinaire.  They bring great enthusiasm to every performance and it is easy to see that they truly enjoy what they are doing.  I was hoping to find a video of them doing this song, but could not.  However, I have included two videos.  The first is of them doing a live performance at a Grand Ole Opry show honoring the great Loretta Lynn.  The second even further showcases their performance skills as they do a song that harkens back to their beginnings in Gospel.
